Student Academic Learning

SMART Goal for Student Academic Learning

Increase percent of 1st graders meeting/exceeding on FastBridge Early Math to 85% by spring ‘23.

Increase percent of 2nd graders meeting/exceeding on FastBridge aMath to 80% by spring ‘23. Increase

percent of 3rd-8th grade students meeting/exceeding on IAR math to 45% by spring ‘23.

Student social emotional well-being

SMART Goal for Student social emotional well-being

ICS  will implement the Second Step Program with fidelity, utilizing the district Second Step platform.

This universal support will be implemented with respect to each grade level scope & sequence for 22-23.

Specific Action Step Timeline & Setting Point Person
1. All district staff will receive professional learning on the expectations, structures, and resources for the district Second Step platform provided by The Student Services Department. This information will be archived and accessible on-demand via the district Second Step platform. 2022 - 2023 School Year Principal
2. Middle School students will be receiving second Step Instruction every Tuesday and Wednesday during Advisory  2022 - 2023 School Year Team Leaders
3. Elementary School students will be receiving Second Step instruction once a week 2022 - 2023 School year Team Leaders/ Teachers
4. During Teacher Team PLC meetings, teams will discuss upcoming Second Step Lessons 2022 - 2023 School year Team Leaders/ Teachers

 

Student transitions

All ICS students will participate in transition activities to prepare them for the 2023 - 2024 school year

5) 8th grade students will be given the opportunity to meet with Maine West High School. Spring 2023 MWHS and ICS  Administrator

In spring of 2021 - 2022 the following grade levels met/exceeded the benchmark percentage for Fastbridge  (Early Math and aMath):

  • Kindergarten - 80%
  • First Grade - 76%
  • Second Grade - 86%

In spring of 2022 - 2023 the following grade levels will meet/exceed the benchmark percentage for Fastbridge (Early Math and aMath):

In the spring of 2021 - 2022 the following percentage of students  met/exceeded on IAR in overall math:

  • Third - Eighth Grade: 42.7%

By spring of 2022 - 2023 the following percentage of students will meet/exceed on IAR in overall math:

  • Third - Eighth Grade: 45%
3rd - 8th Grade Students who received EL services during the 2021 - 2022 school year

In the spring of 2021 - 2022 the following percentage of students who qualified for EL services met/exceeded in overall math

  • Third - Eighth Grade: 17.9%

Out of the 34 EL/former EL students who have attended ICS for more than one year currently in grades 4 - 8, whose scores counted in the EL subgroup during for the 2021 - 2022 school year:

  • 22% will meet/exceed in overall math on IAR
