Art Club Creates Works of Pointillism

Art Club Creates Works of Pointillism
Iroquois

Iroquois Community School second graders in Ms. DeFelice's Art Club created their first project of the year, which introduced them to the art of pointillism.

Ms. DeFelice began the session by teaching the students about Georges Seurat, a famous pointillism artist.

She explained how Seurat created his work and then described the project the students were going to create.

Before they started, the students chose the paint colors they wanted to use.

Each student received a pre-drawn scene and was asked to add color using the pointillism technique.

The young artists then used their fingers or Q-tips to create their paintings by adding one small dot at a time.

To make the creative process even more enjoyable, Ms. DeFelice played music, which the students loved.

The students focused on their masterpieces, carefully adding each dot of color until their paintings were complete.

The students were proud of their hard work and are looking forward to the next Art Club meeting.
