Each Iroquois Community School eighth grader surprised their first grade buddy with a special personalized gift before the school year was over.

The eighth graders spent time researching their buddy's favorite animal and created a personalized picture book that combined animal facts with creative storytelling.

The ICS students worked hard on their personalized gifts and even wrapped them before presenting them to their buddy.

The older students enjoyed seeing the smiles on the first graders' faces and even read the stories to them.

There were stories about sharks, tigers and bunnies!

It was a memorable and meaningful experience for both grade levels.
