Second Graders Take a Trip Around Des Plaines!

Second Graders Take a Trip Around Des Plaines!
Iroquois

Iroquois Community School second graders took a field trip exploring the community of Des Plaines!

They also had the opportunity to meet important members of the community.

Their first stop was a visit to the Des Plaines Fire Department, where students saw what the life of a fire fighter is like and explore the fire station.

After that they visited the Choo Choo Restaurant, where each student had their meal delivered to them via train.

After lunch they headed to the Des Plaines Police Department where the students had the chance to explore the newly remodeled police station.

Their final stop was the Des Plaines Public Library, where students (whose parents filled out a form prior) received a library card and a care package, as well as a care package for students who did not have a card or already had one.

Students were able to tour the library and see the inner workings of the building.

The trip was a success and the students had a great time learning all about the community in which they live!
